Bud Welch to Visit Colorado
Bud Welch, the recipient of the 1999 Abolitionist of the Year Award from the National Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty, will visit Colorado in November. Mr. Welch, whose daughter was killed in the Oklahoma City bombing, travels around the country to speak against the death penalty.
Mr. Welch is on the Board of Directors of the Oklahoma City National Memorial Foundation and is a member of Murder Victims Families for Reconciliation. He has testified before Congress and has appeared on a number of radio and television shows.
Mr. Welch will receive the Abolitionist of the Year Award on October 2, 1999 at the NCADP convention in Philadelphia. He also was honored in 1997 and 1998 by Death Penalty Focus and by the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
