Declaration of Life

Demonstrate your opposition to the death penalty by signing the Declaration of Life. The Declaration of Life was conceived by Sister Camille D'Arienzo, of the Convent of Mary in Brooklyn, New York. The full version of the Declaration is one page long, and it has space for your signature to be notarized. Once signed, it can be filed with other important personal papers.

To receive the full version of the Declaration of Life, contact:

Cherish Life Circle
Convent of Mary
273 Willoughby Avenue
Brooklyn, New York 11205;
(718) 622-5750.

The full version is also available from CUADP, telephone (800) 973-6548;
E-mail: infodesk @cuadp.org.

An abbreviated version has been written on a small card, which states:

"I AM OPPOSED TO THE DEATH PENALTY. If my death is the result of a crime, I do not want any person accused of the crime to face the death penalty. Please advise the court and all attorneys of this. I wish this card to be considered during any hearing in which the victim of a crime is allowed to speak."

After the card is signed and dated, it can be carried in one's purse or wallet. Cards with the abbreviated pledge are available from CADP.
